Kata is located only a few kilometres south of Patong, although considered its quieter neighbor still with the village feel and style which some call Kata Noi. Kata offers a large array of cafe and restaurants from traditional thai cuisine, fresh fish restaurants to the more European dishes sitting alongside some bars that can get pretty busy when the sun goes down. Kata Beach is a great spot to relax and every year attracts tourists from all over the globe. Just off from the busy beaches there are a number of diving and surf schools and tours companies open up to anyone who is looking at doing the more adventurous activities the island offers. For the more relaxed there is always mini-golf, fishing or some great spa to retreat away from.
